Lots of excitement!

So much has happened since my last post, but I have to say, my two most-favorite happenings were my birthday and my BFF, Margaret's engagement.  Everything else in the last two months just seems to pale in comparison...  :)

First, my birthday!  It was April 19th, a Monday... thankfully my friends took great care of me the weekend prior, starting with dinner @ one of my favorite places Bobby Q's!  There were six of us at dinnerm which was delicious, per usual.  After dinner, those of us who didn't have exams to study for, headed down to South Norwalk for drinks and merriment at The Gingerman.  For you beer lovers out there, this is the place to be!!  They have fifty two draught beers and over 100 bottles!

I loved that so many of my friends could make it out to celebrate with me.  I must admit, however, that I was the most excited to have my little sister, Lauren, there.  She is drop-dead gorgeous; and smart, sweet, and funny, to boot!  Here is a cute pic of her:

For those of you who haven't known me forever, Lauren and I didn't exactly get along growing up... Thankfully, we have matured a lot and I now consider her one or my best friends; I hope she thinks the same of me.  :)  Lauren will be graduating from Graduate School at Marist College this weekend.  I am SO proud of her!

I did incredibly well in the birthday present department... almost $300 in gift certificates to Anthro!  Just in case you were wondering, I have about $7.85 left over... Evidently they were burning a hole in my pocket!  Here are a few of my scores:

I love all of them, but my favorite is the Through-The-Clouds Tank that was a gift from Thomas.  I have to credit Kim, my favorite Anthroholic, with inspiring me to give "blush" a try.  I, like Kim, am a fair-skinned girl (or as my sister likes to put it, I am "pasty") and never thought that I could wear colors like this.  It happens to be one of her favorite colors and I always think it looks fabulous on her, so I gave it a try too!  I LOVE IT!  Thanks Kim!!

My overall favorite gift came from Thomas' dad, T.J., who is a wildly talented carpenter.  While we have a great kitchen, the counter-space is definitely lacking, so he made me this gem, custom-fit to our kitchen!

I feel very blessed to have been welcomed into such an incredible family.  They treat me like I am their daughter... hopefully, one day I really will be!

The funniest gift came from Thomas... he knows me very well.  For those of you who also know me very well, you will completely understand how perfect this was:

That's right... its a Tim Gunn Bobble Head.  Eat your hearts out!

So the other big event... my best friend in the whole wide world, Margaret, got engaged this weekend!  I could not be happier for her.  The short version of the story... Her little brother, Jack, just returned from a long trip to Africa and was visiting her and George in the city.  George let Jack in on the plan; her whole family knows this is going to happen at this point.  Jack says something like "Hey, I've never been to the Top of the Rock before," meaning Rockefeller Center, so they decide to be touristy.  It was a spectacular day in the city, so really it was perfect timing.  They get to the Top of the Rock, Jack makes himself scarce, and George can't wait another moment.  He proposes to her on the spot; she says yes.  The rest is history.  I cannot wait for this wedding!!  While I have not seen the ring in person yet, I am sure, based on the photo I saw, that it is a sparkler and is, no doubt, perfect for Margaret.  Congratulations guys, I love you!

That's probably enough excitement for today... Here's a PugPic to make you smile!
